Back to Kohawk-land!
Winter Break is officially over, and I’m happy to be back at Coe. I had a nice time at home with family and friends with plenty of relaxing to gear up for my next (and final, yikes!) semester at Coe.
The bad news is this is my very last semester as a Coe student. As I made my final drive down to school from Minneapolis, I could not stop thinking how quickly my college experience has flown by. I truly feel that choosing Coe my senior year of high school was one of the best decisions of my life. I have learned more in the classroom, had more fun out of the classroom, and challenged myself in ways I could not have imagined four years ago. The support from my friends and professors has been a blessing.
The good news is I have a job! I was so thrilled to find out last week that I have been accepted to Teach for America. T for A is a non-profit organization that works to close the achievement gap and give all children the opportunity for an excellent education. I will be teaching 7-12th grade English in Washington DC for the next two years through this program. I could not be happier to be joining an organization with such focus and integrity. Though I will be so sad to leave Voorhees Hall and the “Coe bubble,” I can’t wait to get started test myself in the real world! This next semester should be just as jam-packed and busy as all the rest… look for updates!
